the haze

My love choice
my life partner
my blind spot;

The water I drown in
The land of victimhood
I call my country.

My citizenship
The laws I follow
and the ones I break.

The incognito
Where I am
concerned;

Where am I?
Who am I?
What is this?

The map I navigate
and gives me
my coordinates;

It doesn’t correspond
to its reference;
the territory we imagine

as reality.

My myth
my symbol
my created virtuality;

Parallel universes

The vastness where
I’ve been lost

My self-doubt;
exclamation antecedes
an interrogation mark

Anything that escapes me
And is tragically inescapable

the power I wield

My unfortunate
sequence of events
life’s chance

Once in a while —
Serendipity

My leap of faith
my subconsequent fall
into the abyss of my Subconsciousness.
